Choosing a Daikin dealer for a whole-house system
A Daikin system for a whole house is two decisions: the equipment, and who designs and installs it. Daikin makes the first. The dealer you choose carries the second. This guide covers what to ask before you choose, and what a Daikin PROSHOP Dealer is.
Questions to ask any Daikin dealer
- Who works out the heat load of each room — room by room, or from the floor area?
- Will the system be designed on drawings before the ceiling closes, with unit positions, pipe runs and the outdoor unit agreed?
- Who installs it: the dealer’s own team, or a crew put together for the job?
- Is the system tested and commissioned before handover, and are the records kept?
- Which Daikin credentials can you show, and for which period?
Ask for the answers in writing. They are what you will hold the installation to.
What a Daikin PROSHOP Dealer is
PROSHOP is a designation Daikin Malaysia gives to its dealers, and Daikin presents it on its Home Central Air Conditioning page. There, Daikin describes the PROSHOP Experience Room in these words:
“Daikin air conditioning is designed for customers to create real household environment, with promise to provide more humanized services with professional site installation and recommendation on HCAC display to ensure satisfactory customer experience.”
The designation is Daikin’s to give, so a dealer should be able to tell you when theirs took effect. Daikin’s AIR CREATOR range is available through PROSHOP dealers.
Credentials you can check
- Ask to see the certificate behind each Daikin credential a dealer quotes.
- Check the period. An annual grade covers a stated year; a grade quoted without one may describe a year that has passed.
